Training Materials on Assertive Communications Skills

This course is for all people, individual or corporate stakeholders (general managers, CEO, directors, supervisors and others) that provides instruction and experience in preparation and delivery of speeches within a public setting and interactive discussion. Emphasis is on research, diagnose, preparation, delivery, and evaluation of informative, persuasive, and special occasion public speaking. Upon completion, the participants should be able to prepare and deliver well-organized speeches and participate in interactive discussion. The participants should also demonstrate the speaking, verbal-non verbal communications, assertive communications and interpersonal skills necessary to be effective communicators in the workplace, in the corporation and in the community.

Learning Outcomes:

The participants will be able to do the following:

1. Communicate clearly, effectively, and respectfully in a variety of types of speeches.

2. Understand and practice all the stages of the speech-making process (focusing a topic, developing main points and evidence, using transitions, organizing, drafting, revising, editing, and delivering).

3. Understand various ethical issues related to the speechmaking process.

4. Adapt speeches based on an analysis of audience and the speaking situation.

5. Execute effective oral arguments using logical, emotional, and credibility-based appeals.

6. Provide and accept feedback from peer reviews to improve oral communication.

7. Critically analyze and evaluate both peer and professional speeches.

8. Learn and utilize principles of effective listening as both speaker and audience.

9. Gain increased confidence in ability to speak in public, as evidenced by decreased anxiety and improved physical and vocal delivery.

10. Incorporate effective audiovisual materials in speeches when appropriate.

Learning methods and approaches:

The methods and approaches of corporate training for public speaking: more practices and theories, case studies, ice breaking, applicative, interactive, participative, inspirative and constructivistic.

Fee of the Course:

About fee of the course for corporate @Rp. 4.500.000,-

Groups/ members:

This training for individual or groups that have many or a few members effectively: 1) 3-5 persons in one group; 2) 6-8 persons; 3) 8-10 persons; 4) 10-12 persons; and 5) 13-15 persons.

Meeting/ Hours:

All meetings: 4 meetings/ 1,5 hours

Place and Time: Depend on the corporation (we can negosiate together).
